Riesige Rosi — Urban Regeneration of an Underground Passage

Munich, Germany

This project, developed by Kraxlkollektiv for the City of Munich, is one of the largest public bouldering walls in the world, with 75 metre long dedicated surfaces. It is located in an underground passage under Rosenheimer Straße, in Munich's Ramersdorf district. The challenge for the lighting design was to find an efficient and cost-effective solution, that would allow for homogeneous lighting of the climbing practice areas, while at the same time providing an energising and pleasant atmosphere for users of all ages.
